In Giza was originally written for the 2009 STIRRED POeTS competition held on The Write Idea forum. I have no recollection of what the prompt was, or what it scored.

Notes
When I first saw the sphinx, I was indeed disappointed by how small it seemed next to the pyramids. Looking back on it, it seems a bizarre thing, to be disappointed by the sphinx. I hope I've grown up a bit since then.
